The PRO.FILE ECM module is an optional Engineering Change Management add-on for existing PRO.FILE environments. It connects your entire organization through a structured workflow for engineering changes, from the initial change request through to final approval and communication. The result is improved process reliability, transparency, and technical traceability.

ECM in PRO.FILE

The engineering change process is implemented as a clearly defined standard workflow directly on the PRO.FILE data foundation. Each change is aligned across product data, documents, decisions, and responsibilities. System breaks and manual processes are eliminated.

The workflow is based on three core objects:

Engineering Change Request (ECR): Captures the reason, description, and evaluation of the change request.
Engineering Change Order (ECO): Supports structured planning and execution of the change.
Engineering Change Notice (ECN): Formal communication of the completed change, including relevant impacts.

All steps are guided, fully documented, and traceable at any time.

Integration and Operation

A technical prerequisite for using the add-on is an active PRO.FILE V10.4 or higher license. The PRO.FILE ECM module runs entirely in a web browser and is available both on Revalize Cloud and on‑premise. Customer data always remains in the customer’s own database.
